Happy new year everybody. I'm writing this sitting more...
This coming Monday, Feb 16th, sees our debut single, FORGET YOU, finally being released, unleashed, set-free etc. The culmination of a collective effort, hard work and blood, sweat and drink-fuelled tears.
Obviously there’s the anticipation and excitement but there’s also a sense of trepidation, of swimming without the aid of arm bands. This shifts the dynamic of things, yet although it may seem that everything has changed, nothing has changed.
We’ve already been played and warmly received by several radio stations up and down the country and beyond, from bonnie Scotland to Wales, from the north east of England to the Netherlands, from the BBC network to smaller, community radio stations, each as vital to us as the next and each one showing support for which we are hugely grateful.
Of course this all involves a lot of work from our side. Not only from the writing/ recording side of things, which gets somewhat put aside at this point of proceedings, but the shift meanders towards the promotional angle. Next week alone sees us visiting Newcastle, Darlington, the West Midlands and Oxford as well as giving various phone interviews to other radio stations dotted around this green and pleasant land. Each journey becomes a road trip to remember within itself, something happening somewhere on the journey that will stay with us, whether it be funny, poignant or just bizarre. Sometimes all three at once!
More immediately though and our thoughts turn to this Saturday, Feb 14th, which sees us officially launch the single with a gig and party at the 333 Motherbar on Old Street. Seeing as FORGET YOU is about putting someone you love out of your mind, we felt it appropriate to choose this date our own Anti-Valentines Day affair, fitting we felt for a bunch of unlovable misfits such as ourselves. Would be great to see you there, naturally you’re all invited. So tell the one you love you will shower her/ him with the greatest show of affection known to humanity, right after coming to the Motherbar to share in what will undoubtedly be a fantastic night.
As always, we salute you!
