Autumn is here, the nights are drawing in... I spent last night in the Hideaway bar thinking about the summer... Or lack of it! What a bore.... This blog is starting out to be a right old bore.
The two things about autumn I hate are 1) the spiders and 2) my yearly check up at the dentist. Is it me or is it strangely weird how they pin you down in that dentist chair at some wrong angle and once they've checked your teeth, they stand over you for 15 minutes talking at you in muffled tones through their dentist muzzle, while you think - just pull the damn chair up so I can speak to you face to face the right way up! I feel like David Blaine! And while you're at it, remove the mask! I'm not contagious! Plus there's never anywhere but the floor to hang your new winter coat on. I always wonder how well they clean their utensils. And how often they replace the cup with the pink stuff in it.
BUT! There are lots of things about the autumn I love - such as 1) Rugby season... All these gigs and I'm missing the matches, but 25th October and I'll be down the Stoop cheering on my Quins boys... 2) The boots! 3) The clothes 4) ..... errr.... let me think about it...
Good news in the SSA camp is a monthly residency in the Native Tongue club in Epsom on a Saturday night... Upcoming gigs all over the shop and many more in the pipeline. I hope you manage to come down to one and say 'hello'!
I'm waiting for my mum to come off the phone to dish up the dinner... Better get this laptop off the table before she tells me off.
